What each advantage means in practice
Expertise built over years, not weeks
The ability to work on mechanical movements — particularly older ones — comes from handling many different calibres across many years. Familiarity with how a specific lever geometry should sit, or how a particular mainspring behaves under tension, is not something learnable from a single course. Our lead watchmaker has worked across Swiss ETA-based movements, Japanese calibres from Miyota and Seiko, and bespoke movements in vintage pieces where service documentation no longer exists.

Proper equipment, used properly
The ultrasonic cleaning bath, timing machine, and water-resistance tester are not decorative. They are in regular use. A movement cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and checked for amplitude and beat error on a timing machine leaves the workshop in measurably better condition than one wiped and re-lubricated by hand. We use these tools as a matter of course, not as an upsell.

Pricing that reflects the actual work
Our service prices are not arbitrary. A battery replacement at ฿4,000 includes gasket inspection, a water-resistance check, case-back reseal, and a condition note — not just the cell itself. A mechanical service at ฿9,500 reflects the time required to strip, clean, lubricate, reassemble, and regulate a movement properly. The price of a vintage restoration at ฿33,000 begins reflects the research, sourcing, and photographic work involved alongside the mechanical tasks.

The measure of a good service is not how the watch performs on the day you collect it. It's how it performs in six months and two years. Lubricants applied in correct quantities at the right jewel points wear evenly. Movement parts cleaned to a high standard accumulate debris more slowly. Regulation across positions means the watch performs consistently whether it's flat on a table or worn on a wrist at various angles. These outcomes require the full process, not an abbreviated version of it.

Photographic records for restoration clients
For vintage restoration work, we photograph the movement and case at key stages before, during, and after. Clients leave with a visual record of what was done — particularly useful for pieces of sentimental or historical value.
Parts sourcing for non-standard pieces
For older pieces where standard supply chains have dried up, we actively source period-correct parts from specialist dealers in Thailand, Japan, and Europe, rather than substituting with modern equivalents that alter the movement's character.
Service ledger approach
Every watch we work on has a written record — what was observed, what was done, and what was noted for the owner's attention in future. This record follows the watch and forms part of its service history.

Particularly for vintage pieces and full movement services, we prefer to discuss the watch and its history before agreeing on a service scope. A ten-minute conversation can avoid mismatched expectations and ensure the work ordered is the work the piece actually needs.
